Once you’re done using these apps, you’ll make everyone believe you’ve had everything planned for months.

Christmas Gift List

Xmas List

If you have a lot of people on your gift list, it’s almost impossible to remember what you decided to get everyone. Then you have to think of a budget to follow and cross your fingers that you don’t forget anyone.

Don’t panic; this is where the Christmas Gift List app comes in. It’s a very popular app on Google Play that helps you keep track of absolutely everything. Tap on the person icon on the top right to start adding people, and once you’re done, you can start adding what gift you’re going to get the.

You can even add a maximum price for each gift, so you don’t go over your budget. In the Shop tab, you see a list of all the gifts you’re going to get with an Amazon link to where you can get them. In the Stats tab, you can see how much money you’ve spent, how gifts you still need to buy, and Gifts left to wrap. Oh! I almost forgot, the app also tells you how many days there are until Christmas.

Elf Yourself

You’re obviously not going to buy gifts for everyone you know. If you did, you’d go bankrupt! With Elf Yourself, you can stay on top of the Christmas greeting part of the Holidays. You can send anyone an elf with your face and someone else’s that you have a picture of in your gallery.

You can add more than five dancing elves to brighten someone’s day. Quickly add a greeting and send a musical video that will surely get a good laugh out of them. The app does take a while to install and launch, but the dancing elves made up for it.

Alarmy (Sleep if You Can)

Alarmy

Having a good alarm clock is also a must to stay organized this holiday season. You’ll need to get up early if you want to grab some great deals and if you’re a heavy sleeper, then you need Alarmy (Sleep If You Can). It’s a very popular alarm clock app that will do the impossible; get you out of bed. If you want to add an alarm for various hours in advance tap on the Add Alarm button, but if you want to add an alarm for a max of an hour from now, then tap on the clock icon on the top right.

When you add an alarm for the next morning, you will need to enter the typical alarm info. One of those things is how you want the app to wake you up. You can either choose from the following options:

  • Take a Picture – You will need to take a picture of something that is nowhere near your bed. For example, you can have the alarm turn off only when you get up and take a picture of the coffee machine.
  • Shake – You will need to shake the phone for as long as the app tells you to. It’s not too short, but it’s also not too long. There will be a yellow line that will tell you how much shaking you need to do turn off the alarm.
  • Math Problems – You will need to solve a math problem if you want the alarm to stop. You can set the difficulty level to one that will surely get you thinking so the alarm won’t be so easy to turn off.
  • Barcode/QR-Code – Not everyone has their own QR code to scan, and that’s why the app lets you scan a barcode. You can either scan the barcode of your favorite cereal or of something that is far enough that you’ll have to get out of bed.

Just reminder

Just Reminder

There are many apps out there to help you remember that you need to do something. But, those kinds of apps usually come jam-packed with other features you don’t need. If you’re looking for an app that only reminds you of something and nothing else, Just Reminder is the app for you. The app is very easy to use and has a very beautiful design for you to look at.

To create your first reminder, tap on the plus sign at the bottom right. Next, you’ll need to enter some information about your reminder. For example, you will need to give your reminder a name, phone number, note (optional), ringtone, reminder time, repeat interval and remind before. If you add a bill, the reminder will show you the amount you need to pay and when it’s due. You can see this information right when you launch the app for a quick look. The reminders are separated into different categories such as All reminders, ToDo, Birthday, Anniversary, Bills, and Call.

Amazon

Amazon

Don’t waste time going to store to store only to find that they don’t have what you’re looking for. Install the Amazon app and do all your shopping from the comfort of your mobile device. Instead of fighting over the last foot massager the store has, order it from Amazon and save yourself the gas money and the stress. You don’t have to have an Amazon account to use the app, but if you do, you can sign in if you want to.

The Amazon app has a feature that I just love, and it involves using your camera. Let’s say you want to see how much a remote you have costs on Amazon. Simple, tap the camera icon and put the remove into camera range. There will be little dots on the screen that will scan the item and then the Amazon app will automatically show you the results of the remote prices. You don’t have to press any buttons; the app does everything for you. When I tested the app, it gave me the wrong result the first time, but after that, it never failed.

Other Apps

I can never get enough of tech in general, whether it's Android or web apps, but helping others solve their tech problems also brings great satisfaction. I carry a device wherever I go and I'm always connected. Life without Internet just sounds too scary to me. :-).
